Telekom Cloud Adressbuch mit W8 Kontakt App verbinden

Hallo.

 

Ich nutze die Cloud von der Telekom um meine Adressen und Telefonnummern synchron auf meinen mobilen Geräten zu halten. Zwar bietet Google und Microsoft einen weit aus ausgereifteres und umfassendes Angebot an als dies die Telekom macht, doch besitzt die Telekom meinerseits ein größeres Vetrauen im Umgang mit personenbezogenen Daten als etwa Google und Microsoft. Sicherlich ein Streitpuntk. Aber darum soll es hier nicht gehen.

 

In Windows 7 hatte ich keine Möglichkeit gefunden, auf meine gespeicherten Adressdaten in der Telekom Cloud so zuzugreifen, dass sie mir komfortabel in meinem Mail Programm angezeigt werden. Hinter dem Adressbuch der Telekom verbirgt sich ein abgespeckter Exchange Server. Folglich lässt sich dann auch auf diesen Service zugreifen, wenn eine App den Zugriff auf einen beliebigen Exchange Server ermöglicht.

 

Öffnet man in Windows 8 die Contact App und schaut unter "Einstellungen -> Konto", dann sieht man dass man ein Exchange Mail Konto hinzufügen kann. Klickt man auf dieses Konto bedarf es einer Reihe an Angaben.

 

Folgende Einstellungen haben bei mir funktioniert: 

• Kontoname: beliebig
• E-Mail Adresse: eure E-Mail Adresse, die ihr in der Telekom Cloud hinterlegt habt bzw. die ihr benutzt
• Kennwort: ein spezielles Kennwort, dass ihr im Kundencenter angelegt haben müsst
• Domäne: leer lassen
• E-Mail Benutzername: Selbe E-Mail Adresse wie Oben eintragen
• Server: activesync.t-online.de

Nun könnt ihr auf eure Kontakte aus der Telekom Cloud innerhalb eurem Windows 8 zugreifen und auch ändern.

Leider ist der Umfang an Informationen der gespeichert werden kann, geringer als Beispielsweise bei Google oder Outlook.com. Für mich steht hier aber wie schon Oben erwähnt, der Serverstandort und der Sitz der Muttergesellschaft im Vordergrund zwecks Datenschutzrecht /-richtlinien.

Using multiple Google Calendars in Windows 8 calendar app

Hi there.

I'm using different Google calendars to organize my appointments, birthdays and non-Business stuff.
Though Microsoft offers a nice Service called oulook.com. It includs Mail service, Calendar, Contacts and Space. Very great but for now I stay on Google. Not in the mood to change Service.

Now using Windows 8 on my Notebooks I don't wanted to abandon using my Google calenders within this new fancy calendar app. The Problem is, if you link to your Google account, only the first calendar will be  added. According to the Internet community this is not the fault of Microsoft but rather of Google.

Anyway adding all your Google calendars need a workaround.

1. Download an Add-On for your browser (Chrome or Firefox) which customizes your identity the browser sent to the website. In this case the Add-On makes Google belive that you are using an iPad or iPhone. Both apps for Chrome and Firefox are called "User Agent Switch".
2. Then you have to de-activate JavaScript in your Browser temorary.
3. Open the following adress: m.google.com/sync
   If you don't see any possibility for login with your Google account, then instead search after this adress and access the page through the search result.
4. Log in with your Google account and click on "Windows Mail"
5. Then you have to change the adress in the adressbar.
   From " SupportMultiCalendars=false "
   To " SupportMultiCalenders=true " , without the " .
6. Press Enter and now you can choose between your Google calendars.
7. Open Windows Calendar App and resync your data. The new calendars will appear.

WUDT - Can't copy data to USB device

Creating a bootable USB drive using WUDT

I bought a new notebook without an installed operation system and having no internal or external DVD drive.

So it is necessary to boot Windows 8 from a USB device.

A small tool named "Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool" makes it possible to easily create a bootable USB drive with any Windows version.

A step by step instruction you can easily find on google.

But now the reason why I posted this stuff:

The programm told me  that it can't copy my data. So i had to check my USB drive or the ISO Image. 

I was pretty sure, that both working probably. Finally I found information about this failure on a website, where the author describes how to set up your USB drive [1].

Apparently the USB drive has to reveal to a specific format and partition.

The following instruction shows you how to prepare your USB drive working with WUDT:

1. Open the command prompt with administrator rights: Start --> CMD , right klick "Run as Admin"
2. type in diskpart
3. type in list disk
4. Select this drive which is your USB drive; the second collum denotes the corresponding number of your drive
5. ' # ' stands for the number corresponds to the USB drive; type in select disk #
6. type in clean
7. type in create partition primary
8. type in select partition 1
9. type in active
10. type in format qucik fs=fat32
11. type in assign
12. type in exit

Now your UBS drive can be used by WUDT.

If it's still not working check as you had administrator rights, your ISO isn't damaged and your USB stick isn't broken.
